Jind is one of the biggest and oldest cities in the Indian state of Haryana. Rani Talab is the major tourist place Pandu-Pindara and Ramrai are the main devotional places attracting devotees for Amavasya bath. The fort of Jind was built by Sidhu Jat ruler Maharaja Gajpat Singh in 1776 AD.
Jind district is one of the 22 districts of Haryana state in northern India. Jind town is the administrative headquarters of the district. It is part of Hisar Division and was created in 1966.
During the Sikh Empire, Jind lies in the heart of Haryana and is the fourth district of the Jat belt along with Sonipat, Rohtak and Hissar.

Jind Junction railway station is a railway junction on Delhi-Rohtak-Narwana-Jakhal section of Delhi-Fazilka line that connects Delhi to Punjab. Another railway line connects it to safidon- Panipat. A new railway line is being constructed from Jind to Gohana. A new upcoming railway line is jind-narnaund-hansi.
