Lalganj is a town with Nagar panchayat in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is developing rapidly due to the Rail Coach Factory. Lalganj has the largest railway station in Raebareli district. It is located on the way from Kanpur to Raebareli/Allahabad and Lucknow to Fatehpur. Lalganj is located between Unnao and Raebareli and hence it's also called Baiswara Lalganj. The language spoken here is Baiswari.
Demographics
As of the 2001 India census, Lalganj had a population of 21,135. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Lalganj has an average literacy rate of 72%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 78%, and female literacy is 65%. In Lalganj, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age. After 2012 there is a huge hike in population because of the establishment of MCF.

Famous places are 'Tejgaon Complex' located at the main road and Hanuman temple that is located at Behta Chauraha (square). About 67 high schools provide basic education and there are many schools for secondary education as well. There is a post-graduate college which offers various courses. The small distance from [Rae Bareli] allows students to study there.

Rail Coach Factory
This factory was established by the Central Government in the Lalganj and was inaugurated on 7 November 2012 by Congress President Sonia Gandhi. This is the third Rail Coach Factory of India. It is located on the Raebareli Road, about four kilometers out of Lalganj. This factory produces AC coaches. Rail Coach Factory, Raebareli is now Modern Coach Factory, Raebareli. Modern Coach Factory manufacture LWACCW, LWACCN, LWSCN, LGS, and LWRRM type of coaches. This is the first coach factory in India that manufactures only LHB type coaches.
