What is AskGif?
AskGif is a bilingual (English + Hindi) platform where you can discover and share GIFs, explore movie reviews and ratings, read insightful blogs, and browse company reviews and salary information for thousands of Indian companies.
Is AskGif free to use?
Yes, AskGif is completely free. You can browse GIFs, movies, blogs, and company information without creating an account. Creating an account unlocks additional features like saving favourites and participating in community games.
Is AskGif available in Hindi?
Yes! AskGif fully supports Hindi. You can switch between English and Hindi using the language toggle on any page. Movie plots, GIF captions, and company information are available in both languages.
GIFs
How do I search for GIFs?
Use the search bar on the GIF page or the global search at the top of any page. You can search in English or Hindi. Results include trending GIFs, emotion-tagged GIFs, and AI-powered semantic search results.
Can I share a GIF from AskGif?
Yes. Each GIF has a share button that copies the direct link to your clipboard. You can also embed GIFs using the provided embed code on the GIF detail page.
What is the GIF Caption Battle?
Caption Battle is a community game where users submit funny captions for GIFs and vote for the best ones. It runs daily with a fresh set of GIFs each day.
Movies
Where does AskGif get movie data?
Movie information is sourced from TMDB (The Movie Database) and OMDB, which provide plot summaries, cast details, release dates, and ratings from IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, and Metacritic.
How current is the movie database?
We regularly ingest new movies and TV shows. Ratings are refreshed automatically. If you notice a missing title, feel free to contact us.
What is CineGuessr?
CineGuessr is our daily movie guessing game. Each day a mystery movie is revealed through 6 progressive clues. Guess correctly using as few clues as possible to score the highest!
Can I filter movies by genre or language?
Yes. Use the genre quick-links on the Movies page to filter by Action, Comedy, Drama, Horror, and more. You can also browse by actor, director, or writer.
Company Reviews
Where does company data come from?
Company reviews, salary data, and work culture ratings are aggregated from employee submissions. Company information (founding year, headquarters, industry) is sourced from publicly available records.
How many companies are listed on AskGif?
AskGif lists over 44,000 Indian companies across all industries — from technology and finance to manufacturing and healthcare.
How are company ratings calculated?
Overall ratings are computed from employee reviews across five dimensions: Salary, Work-Life Balance, Culture, Career Growth, and Management. Each dimension is rated out of 5.
Can I submit a review for my company?
Community-submitted reviews are on our roadmap. Currently, data is aggregated from public sources. Stay tuned for updates!
Account & Privacy
How do I create an account?
Click "Sign In" in the top navigation and choose to register with your email. Account creation is free and takes less than a minute.
What data does AskGif collect?
We collect basic account information (email, username) and anonymous usage analytics. We do not sell your personal data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
How do I delete my account?
To request account deletion, email us at support@askgif.com with the subject "Delete My Account". We will process the request within 7 business days.
