Bordowa also referred to as Batadrava is situated 18 km north west of Nagoan. It is the birthplace of the revered Vaishavite saint of Assam Sirmanta Shankardev. . Famous for its two satras, namely the Narowa Satra and Salaguri Satra, the town is a collage of Assam’s rich religious history.

It is believed that the satras were founded when Srimanta Sankardeva returned from his first pilgrimage in 1494. He named the shrine as Thaan, for propagating the principle of one god, one mind and one soul.

The satrra at Bordowa is a major religious center for Vaisnava devotees from around the state.

Champawati Kunda falls are located in the Chapnalla town of Nagaon. Road

Nagaon is integrated into the National Highway system connected to NH 36 and 37 providing easy access to important places in Assam. Buses connect the city with all parts of Assam.

Railway

There are two railway stations in Nagaon town, one at Haiborgaon(Dhing gate) and another at Nagaon proper. The nearest railway junction is Sensuwa and another is at Chaparmukh, which is around 28 km from Nagaon.

Airport

The nearest airport is Tezpur Airport. The nearest international airport is Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati.
