Serves : 3 to 4

Ingredients:

Rice – 1/2 cup

Water – 2 to 2.5 cups

Milk – 1 cup or as needed

Curd / Yogurt – 1.5 tablespoon

Salt to taste

Sugar – 1 tsp

For Seasoning:

Ghee – 1 tablespoon

Mustard Seeds / Kaduku – 1 tsp

Urad Dal / Ulundu paruppu – 1 tsp

Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya Podi – 1/4 tsp

Carrot – 1 medium size grated

Method:

Take rice in a pressure cooker and add water to it. Cook it for 4 to 5 whistles. Simmer for 10 mins. Switch off the heat and let the pressure go all by itself. Open and mash it up.

Now add salt to it and mix well. Add in yogurt and milk and mix well. Add in sugar and mix well

Now make tempering. Heat ghee in a frying pan heats it up. Add in mustard, urad dal and asafoetida. Fry it for 30 sec.

Add in grated carrots. Saute for 1 min or so.

Pour this over the rice and mix well.
